My name is Kyle Vanderberg and I was born and raised in South Dakota. I did the normal midwestern style things like shoot guns, work and play on the farm, and so many bonfires I couldn’t even begin to count. I’ve also always been a bit of an adrenaline junky. Whatever I could do that I could possibly injure myself, I wanted to do. I started with motorcycles at a very young age and still to this day ride dirt bikes and street bikes. Since then I have tried so many other things and I continue to do as much as I can. I like to say that if it is out there to be done I want to do it.
Coming from the Midwest I have the work ethic of a farmer and I always work very hard and help everyone no matter if I knew them or not. Before I discovered photography my jobs were way different from the work I do now with photography. My job list goes like this; mowing lawns, Building grain bins, pizza place, home construction, Park/Pool maintenance, Ski area Maintenance/Management. Of all of the jobs the only one that I didn’t enjoy was the pizza place. I don’t like to be stuck inside when the outside has so much more to offer!
Photography was never number one until recently. I have always traveled and have always kept myself busy with numerous hobbies. Motorcycles and dirt bikes have always been one of my huge passions. Taking trips with my father and friends to some motorcycle races. Also snowboarding and skiing are a big part of my life. As I grew up a little I noticed all of my hobbies had one thing in common, I always ended up behind a camera.
I have always known two things, I want to help people and I want to make people smile. I have discovered that I can do just that with photography. So I packed up and moved to Denver to go to school, where I am currently, honing my skills as a photographer at the Art Institute of Colorado. I am very passionate about what I do and when I say I am going to do something I put my entire body and mind into it to achieve my goals.
I have never said when I grow up I want to be something in particular. I have always just wanted to do anything and everything. Anything I can get my hands on to do I was always willing to at least give it a shot. Then I thought with all of the things I do and want to keep doing why not document my adventures and share them in a more formal matter and make it my career. I believe that if you love what you are doing you will never work a day in your life and with pictures I am doing just that. Hopefully you enjoy some of my work and I will keep it up to date adding new stuff from time to time!
